Q-isoPortal™
VoIP Network Portal providing invaluable Switching and Routing
functions for IP traffic between IP networks and among
H323 and/or SIP* endpoint entities seamlessly
Outstanding Functions
- Q-isoPortal incorporates the functions of a Gatekeeper, H323 Proxy, SIP/H323
Translator*, RADIUS Client and a Universal Packetsaver Server.
- It works with Q-UPS+ seamlessly to take Packetsaved Traffic from one endpoint and forward it to endpoints with or without Packetsaving (by Q-UPS+) feature and vice versa.
- It enables endpoints such as VoIP gateways, IP Phones and IP softphones which are behind a Network Address Translation (NAT) firewall to communicate with endpoints on external IP networks; it works with endpoints with private IP addresses.
- It provides a single VoIP portal between IP networks allowing for end to end VoIP communications across multiple IP networks; all calls are switched through multiple IP networks with just one single compression and decompression of the voice resulting in less latency and better voice quality as the call traverses one network to another.
- Its Base System has a capacity for managing up to 120 concurrent IP call sessions (conversations); upgrade for incremental capacity to a maximum of 1200 concurrent IP call sessions is made in steps of 120 concurrent IP call sessions.
Other Important Features
- Q-isoPortal's Basic System comes in an industrial grade server with Linux OS in a 19" rack-mountable metal chassis with capacity for managing 120 concurrent VoIP call sessions.
- It has built-in RADIUS client for generating RADIUS compliant
CDRs.
- It can limit each endpoint gateway as to the number of concurrent VoIP call sessions it can have with Q-isoPortal - a useful feature for charging for the service to the endpoint gateway according to the capacity required by endpoint.
- It supports DNIS (Dialed Number Identification Service) and ANI (Automatic Number Identification Service) data delivered by the endpoint gateway and can deliver these data to terminating endpoint gateways or other entities without any modification of the data or with modification, such as stripping 00, including completely substituting these data with other data.
- It does rules-based routing including call routing according to cost, determined ASR and time of day and day of week, etc.
- It allows every endpoint gateway to have registered in it the endpoint gateway's unique routing table for efficiency and expediency in call routing.
- It supports flexible configuration for Authentication, Authorization and Accounting.
- It is configurable to operate in one of 4 Proxy Modes with an endpoint gateway, namely
- Direct mode where only RAS signal is sent between endpoint gateway and
Q-isoPortal
- Q.931 Signal only mode where only Q.931 signal is sent from endpoint gateway through
Q-isoPortal
- H.245 signal only mode where only H.245 signal is sent from endpoint gateway through
Q-isoPortal
- Full mode where Q.931, H.245 and voice are sent from endpoint gateway through
Q-isoPortal
- It auto-negotiates with endpoints to deal with Fast Start or non Fast Start IP traffic in G.723.1 or G.729AB codec
- 100% interoperability with Quintum Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switch and Cisco AS 5350, AS5400 and AS5850
- It has built-in WebServer to allow for configuration from a browser over the Internet with user-friendly, intuitive user
interface.
- It is optionally available in a version for use with Windows 2000 Server as operating system.
Benefits to the ITSP
Q-isoPortal offers the ITSP a single point for call management, administration and security at the edge of the VoIP network. This means better control.
It enables the ITSP to hide the identity of the traffic-originating endpoint from the traffic-terminating endpoint and thereby preserving the commercial integrity and secrets of the ITSP or ITSP's partners's operation. This results in lasting business.
It enables the ITSP to do call switching and routing for both H323 and SIP compliant IP traffic, automatically translating SIP traffic from one endpoint to a H323-compliant endpoint and vice versa.* This means wider scope for business.
It enables endpoint gateways equipped with Q-UPS+ to achieve saving by reduction in bandwidth requirement without compromising on the ITSP's ability to choose to route the IP traffic from the endpoint to terminating gateways that are not equipped with Q-UPS+. This means more profits for both the ITSP and the endpoint customers.
